According to a statement released by Griner's attorneys, she was transported from an Iksha detention centre on November 4. She is currently en route to an undisclosed penal camp.

The lawyers, Blagovolina and Alexander Boykov, said in a statement, "We have no knowledge regarding her precise current location or her final destination." "According to regular Russian practise, the attorneys and the U.S. Embassy must be informed of her arrival at her destination."

The White House stated that it has made a "substantial offer" to Russian officials in an effort to "resolve the current unacceptable and unjust detentions of American citizens."


"Despite a lack of good faith negotiation by the Russians, the U.S. Government has continued to follow up on this offer and provide alternate potential paths ahead to the Russians via all available channels," Jean-Pierre said in a statement.

She said, "The U.S. Government's dedication to its work on behalf of Brittney and other Americans jailed in Russia — including fellow unjust inmate Paul Whelan — is unshakable."

Moscow asserts that it is 'monitoring' the midterm US elections.

According to Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko, Moscow is closely "watching" the midterm elections in the United States and is aware that some Republican candidates have recommended cutting the country's military funding to Ukraine.
